Sophia
Sophia is the owner of Chapter One! She loves reading, baking, and musical theater. She is pursuing musical theater and auditions all the time in NYC! She also has her own at home baking business called Paperbake (get it? its a play on the word paperback). She has a dog named Lulu who has become the mascot at Chapter One! Sophia is so happy to have brought a bookstore back to Mendham!

Favorite Genre: Romance of course! I also like to read some fantasy, general fiction, and historical fiction.

Stephanie
Longtime resident of Randolph and self-proclaimed Jersey girl, Stephanie has been a bookseller at Chapter One in Mendham since May 2024. Stephanie runs our monthly Anything Goes Book Club and enjoys connecting with other readers. Before working at our bookstore (her dream job) she was busy raising her two daughters.
Besides being an avid reader, Stephanie loves take long walks with her husband Joe and their dog Axl, spending time with her family in Cape May, traveling and crafting (she recently taught herself to crochet)!

Kim
Kim is a bookseller at Chapter One Bookstore who simply can’t get enough of books. She loves everything about them—the smell of the pages, the weight of a new hardcover, and most of all, getting lost in a great story. While she enjoys reading across all genres, Historical Fiction is her longtime favorite. Recently, though, she’s been diving into her Romantasy era and loving every minute of it. Jill
Jill has been a voracious reader since early childhood. Books filled her childhood home and she currently has seven floor to ceiling bookcases! Her career started in the brokerage industry as the speechwriter to the President of a Fortune 500 brokerage firm in NYC. Changing careers, she spent the majority of her work life in pharmaceutical sales and sales leadership. Jill recently retired and spends her days with her husband, two cats, reading, playing the piano, substitute teaching and working at Chapter One. She has been married for 34 years and has a son who is in high tech investment banking. Jill loves to recommend books, authors and help our customers find their next great read.
